sunshine coast

I think I just love bikes way too much. I had a million things to do today but I got talked to into going to the Sunshine Coast for the day. Stoked I did. Strand, Paulo, Mantlepiece and myself. I had suchhh a good day. Bikes just give me clarity of mind, love it.

torch relay

Tonight the Olympic Torch Relay came to Whistler and it was so COOOOOL!! I have never seen so many people in town…EVER. Everyone was just glowing…so happy and having so much fun. A lot of people were actually in tears. It’s crazy the effect that the Olympics have on people- it’s impossible not to be touched in some way…at least that’s what I think. I mean there is so much drama around them and people fight and argue (way too much!!) but when it actually comes down to it- they get sucked right in and fall under the Olympic spell…I thinking anyone who denies it is lying! :)

7 days to the games, 100 to the bike park

I am definitely a bit of a hermit in the winter as training is serious business and I am usually pretty busy with school and what not. Anyway, last night there was a Haiti Benefit/100 Day Bike Park Countdown at Merlin’s so I had to make an appearance. It was definitely good to see peeps and have a couple of beers. The 2010 Olympic Winter Games officially start in one week! the torch relay is in town today so I am gonna go check it out….

I love Halloween.

Best costume ever!! The boys dressed up as the Jamaican Bobseld team. They went all out. The sled. The skinsuits. The helmets. The chants. AMMAZING. The Jamaican bobsled team is in town right now for International Training Week but we didn’t see them!! How good would that have been…I have seen every other team EXCEPT Jamaica.

The boys made quite the scene everywhere they went, Love it.

I was a tropical fish, cool but not nearly as cool :)

Oz.

My flight over was one of my easiest flights ever. I flew to LA where I hopped on a plane to Brisbane. The plane took off, I read my book for a bit, I ate dinner then I fell asleep and when I woke up I had missed breakfast, so the flight attendant brought me some breakfast and before I knew it we were landing in Brisbane at 8am. I didn’t even get to watch any movies! I love it when that happens. I guess I was tired. Yah so getting on with the point, it is a good thing I got some rest because we had a pretty full on day right from the start. We hung out at Woody’s for a bit and built up my bikes, went to the pie shop and then headed into Brisbane. We wandered around Brisbane all day. We went to South Bank. We went to 2 Pubs. We went to a super nice steakhouse. We just explored Brisbane until we were exhausted. When the day was over, I rode in a plane, a car, a bus, a boat and a bike. Cool.
